About me

Hello, I’m Tilly — a BACP-registered psychotherapist specialising in psychodynamic therapy conducted outdoors.

At Just Wandering Outdoor Therapy, the outdoors isn’t an add-on to therapy—it’s the foundation of everything I do. Nature is not just a backdrop, but a co-therapist, offering space, perspective, and insight that can’t always be found in a traditional room. By centring therapy in natural environments, we invite the landscape itself to play an active role in your healing journey.

I bring over 25 years of experience in environmental education, outdoor learning, wilderness therapy, and youth work. This background allows me to combine the healing power of nature with psychotherapeutic practice in a way that is safe, supportive, and deeply meaningful. As a qualified MLTB Mountain Leader, I have the skills to guide clients through wild places with care—so that you can feel secure as you explore both the outer landscape and your inner world.

I work with young people and adults facing many different challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, neurodivergence, and big life transitions. My approach recognises how our early experiences and unconscious patterns shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. Out in nature, we can use the landscape as a mirror—finding metaphors and meanings that help bring clarity, healing, and growth.

My own life has also shaped the way I work. Coming from a working-class background and having experienced racialisation, I understand how identity, belonging, and marginalisation can deeply affect how we see ourselves. These experiences ground my practice in empathy, respect, and a down-to-earth understanding of life’s complexities.

I strive to create an inclusive, welcoming space where every voice and identity is valued. Social justice shapes my approach, helping me support clients in finding empowerment and healing.

Outside of therapy, I love climbing, mountain biking, surfing, and soaking up the quiet moments that nature so generously offers. Most of all, I am committed to offering a safe, supportive space where you feel truly seen and accompanied as you navigate your own journey toward healing and self-discovery.
